Eligibility Criteria for Admission

Applicants must be Indian citizens and meet specific academic, age, and professional qualification requirements.

  • Academic Qualification (General B.Ed): Minimum 50% aggregate marks in B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.C.A., B.Sc. (Home Science), BBM, or Master’s Degree in Commerce, Social Sciences, Humanities, or Sciences. Candidates with B.E or B.Tech in Science or Mathematics require 55% marks.
  • Academic Qualification (B.Ed Special Education): Minimum 50% aggregate marks in Bachelor’s Degree (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.C.A., B.Sc. Home Science, BBM) or Master’s Degree in relevant subjects. B.E or B.Tech with Science and Mathematics specialization requires 55% marks.
  • Reserved Category Relaxation: SC, ST, BC, and PH candidates require a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree.
  • Teaching Experience (General B.Ed): Candidates must be trained in-service teachers in elementary education OR must have completed an NCTE-recognised teacher education programme through face-to-face mode.
  • Age Limit: Candidates for B.Ed must have completed 21 years as of 1st July 2019. Candidates for B.Ed (Special Education) must have completed 19 years as of 1st July 2019. There is no upper age limit.
  • Ineligible Degrees: As per GOMS No: 92, holders of MBBS, BDS, BPT, BAMS, BL, LLB, B.A. (Languages), BOL, or other professional degrees are not eligible.

Special Education Specializations and Weightage

The B.Ed (Special Education) programme offers three areas of specialization:

1. Visual Impairment (VI) 2. Hearing Impairment (HI) 3. Intellectual Disability / Mental Retardation (MR)

Candidates can shift their area of specialization at the time of admission counselling based on seat availability.

  • Weightage in B.Ed (SE) is granted to candidates who are parents of a child with a disability.
  • Weightage is given to persons with disabilities holding a valid Disability Certificate from a competent authority.
  • Weightage is given to candidates possessing an RCI-approved diploma or degree.

How to Register for B.Ed Entrance Examination

Eligible candidates can fill out the online application form for the entrance examination using the university portal.

  1. Open the B.Ed entrance application form on the official portal.
  2. Enter Candidate Name exactly as registered in SSC Records or Transfer Certificate.
  3. Enter Father Name as per SSC Records or Transfer Certificate.
  4. Select the required programme, such as ‘B.Ed.(Special Education(SE))’, from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click the ‘Submit’ button to complete the registration process.
  6. To download or print the submitted application, open the B.Ed application print page, enter the 9-digit Application Number, and click ‘Submit’.
